Highway Robbers
Not all of York's past is bathed in goodness and light and there is the darker and macabre side to this ancient holiday haunt. Your break is more than just a tour. It is a step back in time when law and order was in its infancy. To start take the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin, hanged at Tyburn in York. His grave is just a few hundred yards from the St. Deny's Hotel. Near York Minster, visit the home of Guy Fawkes, plotter and failed medieval terrorist.
